Mendocino Wine Company (“we,” “us”) operates mendocinowineco.shop. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Orders and accounts. Purchases, wine club sign-ups, and customer accounts are processed by our licensed e-commerce partner, Vinoshipper. When you order, Vinoshipper collects your name, email, phone, billing and shipping address, date of birth (to verify you are 21 or older), and payment information. We receive your order details so we can fulfill and support your purchase. We never receive or store your full card number. Vinoshipper’s own privacy policy, available at vinoshipper.com, also applies to that information.
- Information you send us. If you email or call us, we keep what you share so we can respond.
- Usage information. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This collects things like pages visited, device and browser type, general location, and how you arrived. Our website host, GoDaddy, and the TrustedSite security badge may also collect basic technical data such as IP address and browser type to operate and secure the site.
How we use information
We use information to process and ship orders, verify legal drinking age, comply with alcohol shipping laws, provide customer service, improve our website, and send you emails about orders, our wines, and our wine club if you have opted in.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site and fulfill orders (such as Vinoshipper, payment processors, shipping carriers, Google, and GoDaddy), when required by law or by alcohol regulators, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
Cookies and your choices
Our site and Vinoshipper use cookies to keep your cart working and to measure site traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the cart may not work without them. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Our site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Emails
Order confirmations and other emails are sent through Vinoshipper. If you have opted in to marketing emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.
Age restriction
This site is intended only for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone under 21 has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
California residents
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. California residents may contact us at any time to ask what personal information we have about them or to request that it be corrected or deleted, subject to our legal recordkeeping obligations.
Data security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information and keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, including alcohol sales recordkeeping rules.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will post the new effective date on this page.
